What Wealth Builders Insights Is For

Four rules every article here follows, including the one that says we publish the reasons not to buy.

This is the publication side of Wealth Builders Insurance Agency. It exists because most financial writing in this category is either too vague to use or written to sell something.

What we cover

Life insurance: term, whole life, final expense, indexed universal life. What each one is for, what each costs, and who each is wrong for.

Wealth structure: how protection, liquidity and accumulation fit together, and why the order matters more than the products.

Health coverage: ACA marketplace basics. It is not our specialty and we say so; it is also the floor under every other plan.

Financial literacy: the practical mechanics. Beneficiary forms, employer matches, what a refund is actually for.

Four rules every article here follows

1. We publish the parts that argue against buying. Every product article names who should not buy it. If you read something here that has no such section, tell us, because it is a mistake.

2. We do not use urgency as an argument. Prices really do rise with age and health, that is arithmetic and we will show it to you. But "act now" is not a reason, and you will not find a countdown clock on this site.

3. Costs get published. Where a product carries charges, the charges appear in the article. Not in a footnote.

4. Take your employer match first. If your job matches your 401(k) contributions, that is the best return available to you anywhere and nothing we sell competes with it. It appears in nearly every article because it is nearly always the first move.

What we will not do

We are a licensed insurance agency. We are not a registered investment adviser, a law firm or an accounting firm, and nothing here is investment, tax or legal advice. Where a question belongs with your CPA or your attorney, we say so.

We also will not quote you a figure that goes stale without dating it. Where you see a number here, you will usually see where it came from and when it was checked.

How we get paid

The carrier pays a commission when a policy is placed. You pay nothing for a session, an illustration or advice. Commission is higher on permanent coverage than on term, and you should factor that into how you weigh anything we recommend. It is a fair question and we would rather answer it before you ask.
